When the Beach Summons

The beach beckons a feeling that nothing else can. Most people would find it relaxing and rejuvenating to just walk barefoot along the coast at dawn or dusk, awaiting the sun to either rise or set. Regardless of the time of day or type of weather, the beach would almost always don such unique beauty, such charm. As the day progresses, the shade of the salty waters becomes even more intense from lightest of greens to the deepest of blues. As you touch the waters, as you draw closer, you hear the aquatic world calling and inviting you to take a glimpse of what it can offer.

Lots of things can be done on the beach. You may recline on an outdoor couch and read your favourite book. You may bask under the warmth of the sun and get tanned to your heart’s content. You may wake up early in the morning and hit the beach for some rounds of exercise. You may take out your pet dog for some walk on the sugar sand coastline. You may put out your water sport gears and have some dose of adrenaline rush. The beach, the sand, the sky, the palms, and everything converge into one perfect vacation world for the weary. Whenever you need to just while away time in a coastal and tropical paradise, come to Moalboal, a serene southern town in the Province of Cebu in the Philippines. Much adventure can be had in this side of the world – from sea swimming to scuba diving. If you adore the beach, you should really have a taste of Moalboal beaches. Come and experience a place so lavishly endowed by Mother Nature.

Role of Tourism Industry

The tourism industry as a whole is a dynamic and growing one. This is because more and more people are seeing the advantage of going on a trip for recreational, leisure, or business purposes. By definition, a tourist is one who travels to and stays at locations besides their usual environment longer than 24 hours but shorter than one consecutive year.

Enormous amounts of revenues are derived from tourism. In fact, many local governments and companies depend on the industry to survive. The entire local community enjoy financial benefits with the increasing number of people hauled by tourism. With the expansion of the industry comes the rise of employment opportunities chiefly because tourism is largely service-oriented. The numerous service sectors tapping the developments in tourism include transportation like airlines and taxis, as well as hospitality like hotels and restaurants.

As for tourism in the Philippines, the country has successfully exceeded its target tourist arrivals in 2009, according to a report by Euro monitor International. The country’s tourism department has since initiated country-specific promotions to attract tourists. Due to a stable economic and political environment, the Philippines is now a famous tropical destination. To further advance Philippine tourism, infrastructure developments were increased and transportation costs were lowered, among other things.

The Philippines is seen as the next destination for health and wellness. The country is banking on its world-class medical professionals and facilities, as well as highly affordable medical services to take advantage of the growing health and wellness market. For instance, spas in the country are quite numerous. Additionally, the local version of massage known as “hilot” is now being developed and marketed as a universally accepted therapeutic practice.

Getting In and Around Cebu

Cebu as a province and a city in the Philippines is a booming place. The city offers all of the modern conveniences that most tourists need from luxurious hotels to deluxe restaurants. The province is also surrounded with majestic beaches and smaller islands, which are perfect as a tourist destination for both domestic and foreign visitors.

To visit Cebu, you have two options – by plane or by boat. Since the province is an island, you really need to cross the sea to get there. If you are an international traveller, you must have an ongoing flight ticket and a visa to get to the country, the Philippines. Passport control and baggage handling in the Mactan-Cebu airport is quite efficient. Although Cebu can be visited by flying to Mactan-Cebu International Airport, some of the international flights only bring you to Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Thus, you need to get on a plane or boat to get to Cebu. If you should arrive in Mactan-Cebu airport, you only need to take a 45-minute ride to get to Cebu City. If are staying at a high-star accommodation, chances are that you will be given a shuttle service to pick you up from the airport to your hotel.

Cebu has the country’s largest and busiest seaport. Around 80 percent of the passenger sea vessels in the country docks there. You can choose any of the many shipping lines operating in Cebu. The boats from Manila are large vessels complete with first-class amenities.

To get around Cebu, the simplest method would probably be the taxicab. Local taxis are usually painted white, air-conditioned, and metered. You should impose to go by the meter to get fair rates.

Starting a Beach Business

Ever wonder why businesses of varying sizes and types thrive along the coastal areas? The beach is flanked by a large number of people annually, making it a great venue for setting up a business.

When it comes to a business by the beach, some of your business options include surf shop, cocktail stand, ice cream parlour, swimsuit store, and so on. You may also operate a resort, restaurant, or bar and offer day and accommodation, food, and/or entertainment to beach bums.

At the start-up, you need to obtain applicable licenses and permits to make your corporate operations legal. You can visit your local business club or city hall for relevant information like zoning rules and business taxes. After sorting out legal matters, you will then need to find a location for your business. Depending on the size of your business, you may need months to years of preparation to erect your store or resort. A well-drafted business plan will help and guide you with everything related to starting, operating, and sustaining the business. The plan should include the products and services you desire to offer to clients. You also need to evaluate the competition and the market. That way, you can pick a marketing strategy in terms of pricing, advertising, and other things. It is normal for new establishments to make grand openings, inviting the media over for coverage and giving out samples to people. To grow your business, you might find it profitable to tie up with another beach business. For instance, you could rent a space inside a large beach resort where you open your shop.

Getting a Beach House

A beach house is one fine place to relax or retire. Prices of oceanfront lots are increasing steadily, making it a good investment today. You can cover the initial expenses through rental income for a couple of years, and then use it for retirement later.

When getting yourself a beach house, you need to first obtain financial advice. Your financial planner can help you assess the necessary expenditures. You should determine your budget by considering down payment, mortgage costs, insurance, furnishings, maintenance, and other stuff. Yes, you need to buy insurance, but know that coastal property insurance can fluctuate variably over time.

Next, pick a location for your beach house. Speak with local realtors, those with solid knowledge and credible background on local businesses. See your lawyer for legal guidance, especially about drafting contracts and governing laws. Do not buy the first property that catches your attention. A beach-front lot that looks fine today could be underwater tomorrow. A cliff-side home with a beautiful view could be washed into the sea due to erosion. If you are going to be renting, choose one that has many rental properties. That way, you are sure it is a popular rental destination, providing you with stable residency and rental income. Your real estate agent can help you get good rentals. Decide how to manage your rental beach property. You may either let a property manager handle it or manage the property yourself.

If you are going to be retiring, consider building a one-story house with a universal design, where the doors and hallways can accommodate a wheelchair or walker. Finding a beach house is a great adventure, you should be able to find a suitable one for you.
